We need cap erasers to remind us that when we screw up, and we all do and will again, we have some way to erase our mistakes and try again. It takes a lot to use up a cap eraser, and that is a good thing. If you are anything like me, you need to erase (or cross out if your eraser is gone) quite frequently. I make a lot of mistakes, but I work to correct them. I don’t mean just when I write things down with a pencil, either. Some of you probably had a feeling I was going to go there.
We all need metaphorical cap erasers in our lives. We are all flawed, some of us more deeply than others. When we try to correct our mistakes, and we try to do better, we sometimes need some help getting there. If we can find that person that will act like a cap eraser for us, then we can forget about some of our mistakes and keep moving forward. It doesn’t mean we won’t make more mistakes in the future because of course we will. But if we have an extra bit of eraser to work with, we can have a little bit of grace to keep making mistakes and learning.
