The pencil is like a person. We can be alternately sharp or dull. I admit to being both from time to time. Pencils are useful for writing things down. They are a tool to help us accomplish what we want to accomplish. People can accomplish things. We are useful in many ways.
But what about the cap eraser? Well, pencils are useful beyond the life of the eraser they come with. Cap erasers allow us to continue use the pencil and erase our mistakes. We don’t have to cross things out and deal with the messy writing. This is a good thing. But how does that relate to people? This is where grace comes in. The cap eraser is like grace. When we have the cap eraser in our lives, or grace, then we can erase our mistakes. We don’t have to cross them out and stare at them all the time. We can (mostly) remove the mistakes and keep doing useful things. So we all need cap erasers (grace) in our lives to remind us that we are going to make mistakes, and we can work past those mistakes and do useful things.
