Our budget means that we now where all of our money is going to go each and every month. It is easy to stick to it because we are in charge of our money now, not the other way around. That's one reason I love our budget. The other item from above, fear of not having fun on a budget, is just not true. When we want to do something fun, we plan it into our budget and then we have fun. We don't worry about it after the fact. There is no bill that follows us home. It makes the fun even more fun. That's the other reason I love our budget. I encourage everyone to try a budget. Give it three months before you give up on it. I think you will learn to love your budget, too.
I really do love out budget. I know that budget is a dirty word in a lot of households, but it is a wonderful thing to be on a budget from month to month. I know the fear for a lot of people is that they won't be able to stick with it. Another fear is that there will not be any more fun. I can say that both of those valid fears are not true. We have been doing a budget for over three years now, and there is nothing bad about it. We had concerns when we started, but we decided that what we had been doing wasn't working. What we used to do is just wing it and hope we can pay the minimums on all of our debts each month. We don't have any debts now, or credit cards, but we do have a budget that ensures we not only pay our bills every month, but we have money left over to put back for future plans and retirement.
