If you have read my blog for any significant amount of time, you will know that I do not advocate traveling on credit or using debt to travel. That will make the travel more of a nightmare when the bills come due. So, travel as far as you can with the money you have to pay for it, but do travel somewhere. It does wonders for the spirit. And that is a good segue to my second meaning for this post: Find your personal runway.
We are not meant to be in jobs and careers we hate, or in places that we feel dispirited in. We are meant for big, bold, wonderful things in this life. I think it is all too easy to get caught up in the day to day grind and forget that there is more to life, more potential for most of us than we care to even admit to. Whether it is a job that makes you nauseous, a relationship that is toxic, of a place that holds you back, find your runway. Runways are always associated with taking off to another place, maybe for a chance to be another person for a day or ten. Personal runways can do the same things for us if we are brave enough to look for them. Maybe it’s a new job opportunity or a change of scenery by moving to a new town or a new apartment. Maybe the runway looks like some other chance, change, or opportunity. The important thing is to find it and then use it. After all, a runway that just sits idle is just a giant parking lot
