We get about 27,000 days, give or take. That comes out to about 75 years. That's a pretty typical life expectancy for modern countries. So if you only have 27,000 days, then each one should count for as much as possible. If the day goes by, and you lay in bed wondering what happened to the day, then it might not have counted. If you can think back on the day and feel satisfied with what you did, that counts. Now I'm not saying that you have to work for the day to count. If you plan a lazy day, or a fun day, and then you make the most of it, then that counts in my book. But it's those days that just kind of get away from me that don't really count for much except another day gone by. That's not what I want, and I don't think that any of us want that.
So did today count? Did you do what you had planned on doing? Do you feel a sense of mission accomplished? I know that we can't make every day count the same. No one has the energy for that. But we should try to make as many as possible count.
